Process
Initial Sketches
I started the visual process by creating quick sketches in my own style, using color pencils as my initial medium. Their immediacy and softness allowed me to explore forms freely and respond intuitively to what I was seeing. These early drawings helped me focus on mood, gesture, and rhythm laying the foundation for the illustrative direction that followed.
Illustration Breakdown
Illustration Breakdown
To visually represent the process with clarity and consistency, each illustration was built up in layers.
This breakdown shows how the final image evolved starting from a basic sketch and gradually adding texture and depth.
Finding a Visual Rhythm
As the sketches developed, I began adding more detail and depth layering lines, refining forms, and observing how texture could guide the tone of the illustrations.
Eventually, we decided to adopt hatching as the core of the visual style. It echoed the vertical rhythm and linear energy found in Sujni embroidery, making it feel like a natural extension of the craft rather than a separate visual language.

brand carries so effortlessly.
During my internship with The Accha Studio, I had the opportunity
to develop Indian-themed emojis for Namaste Emojies under Kurul’s guidance.
